Bastian Hospitality has expanded its hospitality portfolio with the launch of Janu by Blondie, an Indian-inspired all-day café located on Juhu Tara Road in Mumbai. Opened on 15 July 2026, the café has been introduced as an extension of the Blondie brand with a stronger focus on regional flavours, speciality beverages and retail offerings. The all-day format has been designed to serve breakfast, coffee, snacks, meals, desserts and cocktails within a single destination.
Developed by Bastian Hospitality in association with Shilpa Shetty, the concept has been positioned as a neighbourhood café centred on contemporary interpretations of Indian cuisine. The menu features dishes such as Raj Kachori Chaat, Palak Patta Chaat, Superfood Salad, Black Dal with Khameeri, Zaffreno Pasta, Malaiyo and Apple Jalebi. The beverage programme includes speciality coffee, matcha creations and cocktails, including Rasmalai Matcha, Rasgulla Tiramisu Latte, Salted Mosambi Paloma and Don't Jinx It. A retail section has also been incorporated, offering coffee, matcha and other take-home products.
Ranjit Bindra, Founder of Bastian Hospitality, stated that Janu had been created to celebrate familiar Indian cuisine through the lens of a modern neighbourhood café while building on the experience gained from Blondie to establish a concept that is distinctly Indian, approachable and suited to everyday dining. Natasha Hemani, Brand Director, Blondie, said the menu, beverages, interiors and retail collection had been developed to give the brand a distinct identity, adding that the take-home product range would extend the Janu experience beyond the café.
The company stated that the launch reflects evolving consumer demand for hospitality concepts that combine dining, speciality beverages and retail experiences within a single venue. Through its Indian-focused menu and flexible service model, Janu by Blondie further expands Bastian Hospitality's presence in Mumbai's competitive café market while diversifying its portfolio beyond traditional restaurant formats.
