Green Gold Animation has entered the experiential hospitality segment by launching India's first Chhota Bheem Café in partnership with EBG Group at Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. The themed outlet combines family dining, children's wellness and entertainment, drawing inspiration from the fictional village of Dholakpur.
The café offers themed dining, merchandise, birthday celebrations and year-round children's activities. Its menu features healthier options such as millet-based pizzas and burgers, themed desserts, signature beverages and Power Laddoos. A Bento Box subscription service has also been introduced to provide balanced breakfast and lunch meals for school-going children through café outlets and offline delivery channels.
The launch comes amid continuing concerns over child nutrition in India. According to the National Family Health Survey-6 (NFHS-6), only 15.3 percent of children aged six to 23 months receive an adequate diet, compared with 11 percent recorded in NFHS-5. Green Gold Animation and EBG Group stated that the café has been conceived to encourage healthier eating habits while creating a family-oriented destination that integrates food, play and learning.
Dr. Irfan Khan, Founder and Chairman of EBG Group, said the concept reflects changing consumer preferences for experiences that extend beyond dining and added that the expansion is expected to create employment opportunities across hospitality, operations and franchising. Rajiv Chilaka, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Green Gold Animation, stated that the café represents the company's strategy to extend the Chhota Bheem brand beyond animation into immersive consumer experiences inspired by its characters and stories.
The partners have announced plans to establish 25 Chhota Bheem Café centres during the first year with an investment of ₹50 crore across major Tier-I cities. They are targeting 50 outlets over the next three years, with the expansion expected to generate more than 500 direct and indirect jobs while paving the way for hospitality concepts based on other Green Gold Animation characters.
