Golden Dragon Introduces Dragon Bowls at Taj Coromandel in Chennai

A new weekday dining experience is being presented at Golden Dragon within Taj Coromandel, where Dragon Bowls are being offered as a contemporary interpretation of traditional Asian comfort food. The limited-period menu is being positioned as a complete meal solution for diners seeking flavourful yet convenient dining options. A balance of authentic ingredients, traditional cooking techniques and modern presentation is being showcased through a collection of curated bowls inspired by Asian culinary traditions.

The Dragon Bowls concept is being shaped by Cantonese culinary philosophy, in which harmony between colour, texture, flavour and temperature is considered essential. Through this approach, each bowl is being designed as a self-contained dining experience that delivers both nourishment and variety. Premium ingredients are being combined with carefully layered flavours to create meals that remain faithful to their cultural roots while appealing to contemporary lifestyles.

Several signature preparations are being featured on the menu. The Emperor's Fried Rice Bowl is being prepared with wok-tossed prawns served over jasmine rice, complemented by chilli garlic oil and a delicately cooked soft egg. The Silk Route Noodle Bowl is being offered with flat wheat noodles, slow-braised pork, bok choy and a Sichuan pepper-infused broth. Meanwhile, the Clay Pot Treasures Bowl is being assembled with sticky rice, shiitake mushrooms and soy-glazed chicken before being finished tableside with hot oil that creates a distinctive crackling effect.

Strong attention is also being given to vegetarian diners. The Jade Garden Bowl is being presented as a wholesome combination of edamame, lotus root, water chestnut and tofu served in a ginger-sesame broth over brown rice. For guests seeking more intense flavours, the Fire Dragon Bowl is being made available with either Mala chicken or Mapo tofu, accompanied by pickled cucumber to balance its spicy profile.

Additional texture and flavour are being introduced through garnishes such as crispy wonton strips, toasted sesame, fresh scallions and Golden Dragon's house-made chilli crisp. These finishing elements are being incorporated to enhance complexity and provide contrast in every serving.

The Dragon Bowls promotion is being offered at Golden Dragon, Taj Coromandel, Chennai, until 30 June 2026 on weekdays during lunch and dinner service.
