A new social gaming and café format has been introduced in Mumbai with the opening of The Mahjong Club by Aspect Hospitality. Located above Radio Bar in Khar, the venue opened on August 26, 2026, with Mahjong placed at the centre of the experience. Food, beverages and community-led programming are being brought together for regular players as well as those discovering the game for the first time.
Mahjong has been positioned as a social activity, with four-player tables forming the foundation of the venue. According to Aspect Hospitality, lessons, guided play, casual games, tournaments and community events are being planned, while private tables and spaces are available for groups and celebrations. Hitesh Keswani, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Aspect Hospitality, said the concept reflected the company's focus on building culturally relevant hospitality brands and genuine communities.
A Pan-Asian-inspired menu has been created around shared dining, with Edamame Truffle Dim Sum, Asparagus Avocado Uramaki, Ma La Chilli Prawns, Buddha Bowls and Salmon Crudo Bowls among the offerings. Desserts include Matcha & White Chocolate Cookie and Dark Chocolate Date Truffles, while the beverage programme features espresso, tea and signature drinks such as East Wind Iced Tea, Golden Tile Latte, Jade Matcha Cloud and Four Winds Coffee Tonic.
The Mahjong Club operates daily from 9 AM to midnight, catering to coffee visits, meals, gaming sessions and evening gatherings. Reserved and pre-booked tables are offered alongside casual drop-ins, with the gaming-led format being designed to encourage community participation and repeat visits.
