Hitchki’s Monsoon Menu is being introduced in Mumbai as a limited-edition selection inspired by snacks traditionally enjoyed during the rainy season. Familiar street-food flavours are being combined with regional Indian seasonings and contemporary presentations across the seasonal offering. According to Hitchki, the menu is designed around warm, comforting dishes that can be shared during afternoon meetings, casual evenings and unexpected breaks from the city’s downpours. The arrival of the rains is being marked through preparations that draw upon nostalgia while retaining the restaurant brand’s characteristic playful approach.
A seasonal dining experience is being created through dishes that reflect Mumbai’s long-standing association with fried snacks during wet weather. By combining familiar preparations with unconventional finishing touches, the menu is being positioned as both nostalgic and contemporary. Hitchki stated that comfort, regional influences and shareable portions had guided the development of the selection.
A South Indian influence has been introduced through the Gun Powder Fries. Crisp French fries are being coated with aromatic podi seasoning, commonly prepared using roasted lentils, chillies and spices. A tangy tomato chutney is being served alongside the fries, allowing a familiar fast-food preparation to be presented with a stronger regional character.
Traditional monsoon fritters are being represented through the Kanda Lasun Bhajiya platter. Potato and onion bhajiyas are being served with spicy chilli pakodas and green chutney. According to Hitchki, the platter has been designed to recreate the experience of enjoying freshly fried snacks during Mumbai’s rainy afternoons and evenings.
A more indulgent interpretation is being offered through Bread Cutletz. Crisp bread pockets are being filled with tempered potato and cheese before being covered in a light gram-flour batter. The pockets are then fried until golden, finished with pizza seasoning and accompanied by tomato ketchup.
Seasonal familiarity is being prioritised throughout the limited-period menu rather than being replaced by elaborate experimentation. Recognisable ingredients are being retained, while flavour combinations and presentations are being adapted to suit Hitchki’s dining format. The offerings are intended to be ordered collectively, reinforcing the social ritual of gathering around hot snacks while the rain falls outside.
Mumbai’s monsoon culture is ultimately being celebrated through dishes associated with warmth, spice and comfort. Whether a sudden shower is being avoided or an evening is being spent with friends, the Hitchki Monsoon Menu is being presented as a playful tribute to one of the city’s most anticipated seasons.
